My New .NET Community Position
Just wanted to blog about an exciting opportunity that presented itself...
I just signed on as the Program Director for the Plano .NET User Group North Dallas .NET User Group (as announced last night). Jason talked briefly about some big changes in store for the group, new meeting location, etc.. It's going to be a lot of fun. I'll be working with the rest of the NDDNUG team to continue shaping and growing the group to meet our member's needs. We'll work with the best local and national talent to provide great content to the members, as well doing some neat things to promote collaboration between our members. I'm really excited for this opportunity.
This means that I'm stepping down from my role as "Director of Speakers" for the Dallas .NET User Group. The guys running the group, Dave, Roger, & Omar are doing a great job, and I wish them well. DDNUG has shown some wonderful growth and great promise since we took over the group last year. Now, DDNUG's 2005 calendar is booked, and the first 2 meetings for 2005 (Rob Howard & Brad Abrams) brought in 400+ people (200+ each)! DDNUG has a great membership base and a great location - which makes for an AWESOME user group.
The Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex has many user groups - kudos to our local DE Brian Moore for helping support all of us - we know that is a lot to work. (I mean, check out this list... Brian == Uber DE!) Having soo many groups allows us to compliment each other, and provide a great .NET Community for everyone in the area!
