Security Settings on Build 1289 of Windows for x64
The Internet Explorer Web Browser settings when running on x64 (and I assume the soon to be released SP1 for Win2k3 Server) are set with javascript turned off. This has been driving me up the wall. I must admit that I am not much into settings, just a dev tool and database make me happy. Well, its rather easy to turn javascript back on. Open up IE and got to Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Internet -> Custom Level and then change the scripting settings to your heart's content and away you go. All seems to be right with the world now.

For those of you that haven't heard, Win64 for x64 has hit release candidate. To go along with that, Win2k3 Server SP1 has also hit release candidate. Both sets of bits are at build 1289. I think that they should be on MSDN for Universal Subscribers soon.

Win64 for x64 - Sql Server 2005 / Yukon Beta 2 report
Well, it looks like Yukon Beta 2 runs on Build 1218 of Win64 for x64 systems. The only thing is that the Beta 2 Sql Management Studio does not currently run Win64. Accord to Euan Garden, in Beta 3, the Sql Management Studio will run in Win64 in the WOW layer. This is very similar to the VS.NET 2005 Beta IDE works today. I am looking forward to seeing the Sql Management Studio running on Win64. Until then, you can use the Win32 Sql Management Studio from a remote machine to connect to the Win64 system or just use the VS.NET IDE on the same system.
