Why do I code?
In response to Don Xml's post, I think I code for the same reason, I like doing it. It started as a hobby on a Commodore 64 when I was a mechanic for Amtrak, and it just made sense. I actually can't believe I get paid to do this. I can't believe I get paid as much as I do, to do this. Like the saying goes, find something you love and do it for the rest of your life. I definetly found it.

The effects of blogs and aggregators
Since I have been reading these blogs with SharpReader I have noticed a difference in the way I browse the web. My favorites folder for IE has about 200 development related links. Before the blogs there were 10 or so that I visited daily and the rest got visited when I had nothing better to do.

Vacation woes?
Well I'll be going on vaction starting on the 9th. My dilemna is how do I keep in synch with the rss feeds? Am I correct in assuming the .Net Weblogs feed is renewed every day? Or will I be able to get a weeks worth when I come back?

Another satisfied Firebird customer
I agree with Phil, Firebird is an excellent browser. I just started using it after reading about it on Joel Sposky’s site and I really like it. I have script on a page that works with IE but not Firebird that I need to investigate, but aside from that, this browser just kicks butt. Control over popups, nice web developer addins, better javascript console, tabbed browsing. I could go on.

Newsgator
Yes, NewsGator is slick and definitely worth the $29. Just being able to manage and post, plus summarize new items is worth it.

IT jobs going overseas
This article was on the front page of our Sunday paper here in New Haven, CT. How bad does everyone think this is? I know jobs are tight and the impact of losing jobs to cheap labor may not be bad now, but this article says it may be worse than the loss of manufacturing jobs.

My thoughts on C# and VB.Net
I was a VB nut from the beta of 1.0 up to version 6. I just like the C# language syntax better.

C# Class Design Handbook
I'm reading the Wrox press C# Class Design Handbook. Its a good read. What I got out of it were mainly little tidbit things that I didn't know about. The C# Text Manipulation handbook is sitting nearby as soon as I finish this.
