Silverlight2 RC0 Installation made easy

The new release of Microsoft Silverlight 2 RC0 make a great update change from the previous one ( Beta2).

But Did you notice about other changes?

In this new release of Silverlight 2, it really makes thing so different. It cuts down the size of Development tool ( Silverlight2 Tool for Visual Studio 2008 SP1 ), but Increases the Runtime one (Microsoft Silverlight 2 Developer Runtime)
for this RC0 Release is just the road map release to the final release of Silverlight2.

In the previous release of Silverlight ( Beta2 or older ) It included :

• Silverlight Runtime
• Silverlight SDK
• Silverlight Tool for Visual Studio 2008

But, What happen now, Silverlight 2 RC0 doesn't contain Silverlight Runtime in Its Development package anymore, So When you try to install it
while you are connected to the internet, it'll going on without any error occur. Have you ever notice that, Installing Silverlight 2 Beta Release is much faster than the RC0 Release? When you are trying to install the RC0 Release It'll check if your package has the Silverlight2 Runtime or It'll download from the server in order to continue the installation.
That's why after you click installed it show the screen as below and take time at least 1 to 3 minutes or more to continue the installation.

If lucky your computer is connected to the internet, so It'll continue the installation after 1 or more minutes of waiting.

But unfortunately if your computer is currently offline ( no internet connection ) So you'll receive the result screen as below:

So for the best way to install Silverlight2 RC0 faster and best result, for both Online and Offline installer, Please you should follow the following Step:

Since Silverlight2 RC0 requires to download the Silverlight Runtime from the server to its package in order to continue the installation, so you can do it manually.

What you'll need for now is the Silverlight 2 Developer Plug-in, You can get it here You'll also need the extractor program to extract the installation file, for now I recommend you use WinRAR, you can get it here
After you downloaded and installed WinRAR Please Select your Silverlight2 RC0 Tool for Visual Studio ( Silverlight_tool.exe) and Right Click and Select Extract file... ( see screen below)

Sooner the new screen will show as below and Select your Location to Extract your files to and Click OK .

After you have finished extract the files, just go to Copy Silverlight 2 Developer Plug-in that you just download moment ago. Copy and past it in to the Extracted folder, See the image below:

Okay, The thing is done now and ready to Install Silverlight Development tool to your machine., To install, Please Click on the file name" SPInstaller.exe " in the extracted folder and you will see the installation is going faster than before.
