I hate this error. Does nothing to tell you what really happened....but then I found Chris Sell's tool XmlSerializerPreCompiler.exe.....Thanks Chris.

This tool will attempt the xmlserialization for you but give a MUCH more descriptive message besides file not found. It will also leave behind the temp.dll files for you to evaluate.

Do you get different assembly names missing when you refresh the screen. Are you using webservices in your code?
