Object Relational for .NET?

Object Relational(OR) mapping and Object Persistance frameworks are one of those approaches to development where my intuition instantly locates the nearest septic tank as soon as I start considering it.

I don't profess to be the most advanced developer around, and frankly consider OOP a tool rather than a religion.  Having said that, I tend to have a good intuition about which technologies and techniques to embrace, and which to flush.

Recently there seems to be an increase in the number of newsgroup posts and blogs about OR by many people whom I respect.  And, it appears from a few snippets here and there that Microsoft is working on something called "ObjectSpaces" that sounds pretty close to an OR model as well.

So, am I the only person who just doesnt "get" OR, or do others feel as I do?

Products such as EntityBroker and some of its Java predecessors seem quite mature and well thought-out, but I still cannot help but think its a flawed approach....

[Updated]
The only reference to the MS ObjectSpaces framework I can find is a developer site that has entries from last year.  Does MS have an official site or page about this project?
