Must see foreign film!

I have to admit that I am a bit of a movie fanatic.  If I could only channel my movie-watching time towards coding , I would be much more productive....*sigh*

This weekend, I discovered an unusual French movie that struck a chord with me...

Amelie(2001) is a surprisingly witty exploration of a nerdy girl's psyche as she attempts to deal with difficulties with intimacy.  Audrey Tautou plays the quirky yet adorable Amelie who is kind, mischevious, obsessive, and insecure girl who is trying to find her place in the world.   Yes, this is a bit of a chick-flick, but there is enough special-effects tricks, sex, and interesting plot twists that make this a fun watch even for us guys...

Not since Roberto Benigni's poignant "Life is Beautiful" have I been so intrigued and engaged to sit through an entire movie reading subtitles, and end up pleasantly surprised that I did.
