Ted Pattison's Latest Book

I finished reading 'Building Applications and Components with Visual basic .NET' last night.  All I can say is Ted has done it again.  His COM+ book was great....this one is even better.  This guy writes as if he is sitting in front of you, beer in his hand, just chatting away.  I guess you could say he writes the way I learn.

Ted, if you are listening, nice job.

  • I have never purchased a book with Ted Pattison's name on it that I have no enjoyed and learned gobs of information. If not new material, at least a different (and clearer) way to think about it.

  • I just can say He is the MAN!

  • I went to his training "Essential ASP.NET" way back, and thoroughly enjoyed it. As you said, he has a great casual approach to teaching that slips the info into your brain without you realizing. :)

My only complaint is that he was such a strong VB.NET guy that some of the C# conversions were rough. Of course, that was over 2 years ago, and I heard from other Developmentor guys that he has since come up to speed on C# too.

    Thanks for the book recommendation!
