FogBugz

I have spent some time this week reviewing and testing FogBugz as a PM tool for us.

We have a home grown FoxPro app that we use that does an OK job.  I have been looking for something inexpensive that was built specifically for PM though.  So far I like what I see.  APress sent me a free copy of Gunderloy's  "Painless Project Management with FogBugz".

I recommend this book if you do plan to use FogBugz.

I will report back with more over the next week or two.

  • FogBugz is great - I've been using it since version 3.0 and I love it. I've worked with BugTracker.NET and Microsoft's IssueTracker, neither of which I really care for.

Anyway, I highly recommend FogBugz - it's been great for my uses.

  • I'll second the "FogBugz is great" notion. We use it where I work at the moment and I love it.

  • Also take a look at Gemini at www.countersoft.com (ASP.NET UI against SQL Server with web services for your own extensions, customisable, etc).

  • I'm the author of BugTracker.NET. Since Nathan's comment in April 2005 I have released dozens of enhancements, so maybe even Nathan would change his mind if he saw it today. It's like FogBugz, not Gemini. Email integration coming and going like FogBugz. Screen capture tool like FogBugz.
