Hawaii photos

For those of you who might be interested, you may have noticed that on the schedule for my recent MSDN Security Briefing tour, was a stop in Honolulu, Hawaii. I had a great time there, as you might expect, though I did manage to get pretty badly sunburned (that’s what happens when you spend two hours in a futile attempt to teach yourself how to surf, without using any sunscreen). Here’s a couple of photos from the trip:

  • Looks beautiful! My wife and I spent time in Hawaii last year; seeing these pictures makes me want to go back!

  • This first one looks suspiciously like the view from the Marriot. I recognize that green church roof just below. Is it the Marriot?

  • Wow. Sharp eye, Tosh! It most certainly was the Marriott that I was staying at, and that green (copper) roof is indeed the Catholic church next door. They were working on the roof while I was there (not the metal part, but the flat parts below and behind it).

  • Doing some eyeball geometry with our own pictures, I think you were a few floors below our room. We were able to get on a free wireless access point from somewhere below if we brought the laptop out on the balcony. I forget what the SID was. Well hope you had fun, I can't wait to get back there myself.

  • I was on 25, and was also able to get on a Wireless network, albeit not for free. The folks at the business center were rather surprised that I could see the wireless at all, so I guess I was lucky. OTOH, what the heck were either of us doing on the computer surfing the web, when we could've been out surfing the waves? Well, OK, there weren't all that many waves at this time of year, but still...

  • I just happened upon your blog and wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed the photos.

Thanks for sharing and keep up the great blogging. :)
