David McCollough for Tulsa SharePoint User Group President 2009

I would like to announce my candidacy for President of the Tulsa SharePoint User Group 2009.  The elections will be held during the monthly meeting on February 9, 2009, from  6:00PM  until 8:00PM.

I am a Microsoft Certified Application Developer with 13+ years experience developing software applications and I’m  currently working for a Microsoft Managed Gold Partner, SpringPoint Technologies.  I would like to share what I have learned about SharePoint with other developers while continuing to expand my knowledge of SharePoint as well.

Following are a few ideas I would like to implement in 2009:

  1. Migrate the current SharePoint user group web site to a SharePoint hosted user community site utilizing the Community Kit for SharePoint.
  2. Utilize FaceBook and YouTube to increase the user group’s online presence.  This includes video taping the meetings (with the presenters consent) and post on YouTube.  This would allow members of the community that are unable to attend the meetings to view the content while increasing the awareness of the SharePoint User Group.
  3. Provide a link from the user group web site to the videos.
  4. Increase awareness, membership and sponsorship of the user group.

The monthly meetings are located at the Tulsa Community College Northeast Campus, Main Academic / Administration Building, Seminar Center, Room 109 in Tulsa, OK.

Sincerly

David M. McCollough
