Done with my first OpenForce Presentation

So I just finished up my DNN presentation, “How to sell DNN, why your customers should be using it” we had a lot of great questions going on after the presentation. I’m looking forward to my session on Thursday.

I'll blog more after I get some food.

  • Will you blog on this subject at some time soon. I guess we could all benefit, particularly when we have to start paying for DNN; we may need all the reasons we can find to try and encourage clients.

Were there any suggestions as to possible costs and what the possible differences may be between Proessional and Community versions?

  • Declan, I will gladly blog about this more, but what I want to assure you that as far as I know, you will not be required pay for DNN, they aren't getting rid of DNN as we know it, it is just being branded Community.

I do not believe that the community version will be tied to "only non-commercial" sites in anyway, if that is your fear.

I could be completely wrong on this, but I am fairly confident I am not.

  • This is a very relevant issue I presume for a lot of people. I have to convince a customer right now! Maybe your ideas could help. Is your presentation available somewhere?

  • I guess my fear is that the Community version will be the poor relation with all the good stuff in the Professional version. This could render the Community version almost useless for anything more than a basic site.

Will there be professional versions at different levels with features at different price bands; small business, medium and large enterprises, possibly based on a maximum permitted number of registered users!

I guess we just have to wait and see what the plans are. It is all speculation at the moment.

Many of us have built small businesses on DNN. If we now have to pay more it will have an impact on "the bottom line"... not that I object to paying. Having to pay will raise customer/user expectations considerably.

Payment is no surprise, I saw it coming for a long time.

  • Would love to have been able to attend the conference. I would also really like to have seen your presentation. We have been building DNN sites and custom modules since about 2005 and would like to encourage more clients to use DNN.

Keep up the good work informing the community!

  • Chris, can you provide me the slide deck from your presentation?
