Using JQuery to set create a flexible 3 column layout with Divs
This evening I was working on creating a Full Width skin for http://www.sccaforums.com/, the current skin is at a fixed width, which doesn’t work very well for an active Forum when you have a browser with a high resolution. (The site runs on DotNetNuke, so this post will feature examples for DotNetNuke, but the code is applicable to any HTML pages)

A simple DotNetNuke article module with C# and VB.NET Source
For the DotNetNuke Connections conference last month I provided an advanced DotNetNuke module development course as a pre-conference training session. That training covered details on how to implement some of the newer features in the DotNetNuke platform within custom modules, mainly ContentItem integration and Taxonomy features.

Free DotNetNuke Training now available
When I started up here at DotNetNuke Corp. in March, I spent quite a bit of time planning and tweaking our plan in regards to the DotNetNuke Training that we would be offering. The initial phase launched when we started offering our paid DotNetNuke Training Webinars in May 2010 covering a variety of DNN topics. Since then we have conducted almost 80 hours of live webinar based training, with hundreds more hours scheduled for the rest of the year.

Free DotNetNuke Skins
If you are looking for Free DotNetNuke skins be sure to check out the entries from the DotNetNuke Skinning Contest earlier this year. There are a ton of great skins there on the page that you can download and use on your DotNetNuke portals. The skins are all licensed under the same MIT license that DNN is released under, meaning you can do just about anything you want with them!

St. Louis Day of .Net 2010
So last year, shortly after I moved from St. Louis to Denver, I went back to St. Louis to present at the 2nd St. Louis Day of .Net. Now, having moved from Colorado to California I’m headed back to St. Louis again. Once again presenting at the St. Louis Day of .Net, August 20-21, 2010. I will be presenting my crowd favorite DotNetNuke Best Practices session, the same one, possibly tweaked a bit, I delivered in Toronto in May. This session always seems to go over well with DNN people, old and new alike.

INETA Community Champion, Take 2
Last week sometime, perhaps the week before, I got an email from INETA reminding me to get my submissions in for the INETA Community Champions contest for Q2 2010. I last entered Community Champion info for the Q4 2008 contest, in which I was graciously awarded a prize. Being ineligible for a year after winning I failed to keep up with all my various entries.

A C# Version of DotNetNuke
Did you hear the news? You can get DotNetNuke in C# now! What? Say it ain’t so, DotNetNuke has abandoned VB.NET? Well not quite, the release and production version of DotNetNuke is still in VB.NET, though a kind soul has spent some time lately converting DNN to C#. For all the details you can check out Scott’s blog post over on DotNetNuke.com

My DotNetNuke Daily Tips
So I’ve had a blog here on http://weblogs.asp.net/christoc/ for many years now, though my posting here has faded as of late I do occasionally blog a time or two here. In the past I’ve done a number of DotNetNuke Daily Tips, but that faded as well.

Anyone still running this place? weblogs.asp.net
I’m getting a horrible amount of comment spam here on weblogs.asp.net lately. Anyone still maintaining this place? Anything you can do to beef up the spam filtering? I’m half tempted to turn off all comments on my blog posts and to quit using the site if things keep up as is! I would rather not do that, but it’s getting a tad ridiculous.

Silverlight blogging? and a Microsoft Store in SoCal?
So I was talking to David Silverlight down in Miami Florida earlier this evening and he started asking me about blogging. I had to lead him towards the path of enlightenment (Windows Live Writer) as he was complaining that he completely lost the blog post he had just written. Once we got that squared away David got to posting.

DotNetNuke Documentation
One of the biggest complaints about DotNetNuke, is, and always has been, the lack of documentation. I’ve been trying to help correct that problem for a while now. A year ago I started writing a book that was Published in June, DotNetNuke 5: A User’s Guide, I think it turned out to be a good resource for people looking to learn how to setup and use DNN to build a website.
