  • Code Decisions Matter

I get a ton of questions on startups.  One of the questions is, “Do code decisions matter?” Typically, this is around language, so I tend to answer the question, “do languages matter?”  The answer is, “no, languages that you use do not matter to an end customer” on the surface.  Customers don’t care if you use JavaScript, python, c#, Java, etc.

  • .Net MAUI grid tag seems to have some magic associated with it.

Oover the last couple of years, I've been trying my best to learn .net maui. one of the things that i have found is that the <grid /> tag seems to have some magic in it. first, i found that the listview didn't work right without it, thank you to whoever identified that for me. then I was working on an issue I found last with a third party control i decided to try. i had tried a bunch of things with no luck. i saw some example somewhere with a grid control. i put that in, and poof, bob's your uncle and it all worked. i played around with things more and it all seems to be working now.

  • Startup Articles

I wanted to tie together a few of my startup articles designed for developers and to put them into one place where I can access them.  Here are my articles from Visual Studio Magazine over the past few years.  I wrote them, then there was change in direction, and so some of my articles didn't get published.  Oh well, it is all good.  Here they are, I hope you enjoy them.

  • Startup - Top 10 List (Or So)

I've been told for years that I need to put together a set of videos regarding my Top 10 List of things for a Technologist to do to get a startup into first gear.  I have a talk on this, but I have never actually done the video(s).  Now, I have, and I have put them up on my YouTube.  I'm going to link to them from this blog post.  I hope that I have them in somewhat the right order and that I haven't mucked things up too much in this.

  • High And To The Right

Recently had a conversation regarding our application(s) up at DC for my government client.

  • Enough is Enough

As everyone knows, the United States Capital was breached by thugs trying to disrupt the validation of the Electoral College votes for the 2020 National Election for The President Of The United States.  A group of protestors/thugs then laid siege to the capital.  I won’t bore you with my thoughts on this.  I have listened to various political leaders this afternoon.  I would hope that Joe Biden would lead us forward.  You have a hard road ahead of you.  I feel for what you are going through at this time.
