Lance Hunt, my story...
Welcome! My name is Lance Hunt. I am a .NET Framework developer, architect, mentor, and general computer-geek.
I grew up spending an embarrassingly large percent of my teen life sitting in front of a computer playing games, writing BASIC programs, and visiting BBS's. After taking every computer class offered in high-school, I meandered through college switching from Chemical Engineering, to Computer Engineering, to Computer Science, to Business Administration until I finally earned a BBA in MIS with a minor in Management.
Over the past 8 years my career has spanned jobs in retail, manufacturing, consulting, financial institutions, dotCOM's, and traditional corporate environments. Early in my early career I was focused on consulting and implementing hardware and network technologies, but soon found a real love for software development with a little FoxPro, lots of Visual Basic (3.x/4.x/5.x/6.x) & ASP/VBScript, and finally culminating in my fascination with C#, ASP.NET, and the .NET Framework since shortly before its release.
My current focus is on technologies using C#, ASP.NET, WinForms, T-SQL, XPath/XML/XSLT, .NET CF, P/Invoke, COM+/Interop, BizTalk, Sql Server 2000 Reporting Services, RSS/Blogging, and many new bleading edge technologies. Since 2003, I have started to embrace Design Patterns, and am constantly learning new techniques and technologies to improve productivity, accuracy, performance, and overall end-user impact of my applications.
My dream job is to work for Microsoft as a lead developer shaping and creating innovative products that change peoples lives....AND/OR...sitting on a beach in front of my dream home in Maui, with a laptop in one hand and a 64-ounce margarita in the other....
