Enterprise Instrumentation Framework [EIF]
Microsoft finally published EIF to MSDN Subscriber Downloads, their new approach to logging, tracing, auditing applications within th enterprise. During the Everett(VS.NET 2003) beta, I was very disappointed that it was a no-show, especially after the prominant mention of this framework in the document announcing the roadmap that included Everett. I asked many times about EIF within the Beta forums, but never received a response, and seriously thought this was just a bit of vaporware...but now it is actually here.

Weighing in on "BCL-types vs Language-specific types" debate...
I agree with Clemens Vaster's comment "Int32 is just some detail of the underlying platform. The fact that C# and VB.NET very convienently map onto the CLR type system doesn't mean that all languages do. ".

SgmlReader
2003-04-02 - SgmlReader (was HtmlReader)
Dare just pointed me to Chris Lovett's SgmlReader which is already an XmlReader.Since HTML is an SGML grammar, I think we're done here.via [Don Box's Spoutlet]This is another impressive contribution...makes me wonder why I even try to code stuff myself sometimes. Perhaps its fortunate that my day job is in EAI rather than actual coding, since I can justify using other people's hard work to get my job done. :)I REALLY need to spend more time browsing the User Samples section of GotDotNet!! -
I'm an Amiga?!?
Having owned several Commodore-era systems, I am not too surprised. I guess I finally am reaping the rewards for my countless hours wasting teenage years in front of a TV set with a Commodore64 plugged into it...while surfing BBS's on my 300baud modem. (I guess I this dates me a bit)
