PDC05: Arrival & First visit to PDC
After a draining 9+ hour ordeal trying to fly from DFW to LAX involving 1 broken plane in DFW and another upon arriving at LAX, we finally arrived in LA. (Thanks for the memories American Airlines!)
I'm staying at the Sheriton Universal hotel across from Universal Studios park which is nice because of the many nearby eateries and other diversions on the City Walk. David, Zach, and I spent some time exploring and sampling the local brews and food, watched a couple NCAA football games, then gave-in to our jet-lag and went to bed.
This morning we are sitting in the LA Convention Center with a cup of Starbucks' finest, enjoying the free 802.11g, and digging-in to all the nifty swag in our PDC bag.
The convention center is all decked-out with welcoming banners, dozens of PC's, plenty of network outlets and recharging stations for attendees. At the moment things are quiet, but abuzz with activity as workers setup and prepare for the coming events.
I guess today is like day -2 of PDC since the keynote isnt until Tuesday. On the agenda today; Windows Internals Pre-con session with David Solomon. This promises to be an excellent session that I am long-overdue to be educated on.
I plan to blog later with my thoughts on the session and any other interesting events that occur.
