Dell further delays Firmware Patch for Axim X5/Pocket PC 2003... :(

For the 4th time in 2 months, I called Dell to ask about the status of this issue, and once again they delayed the Patch. This time, until the end of September. I am really getting tired of the excuses from Tech Support!

This document addresses a performance issue with the Axim X5 handheld running PocketPC 2003. This combination is causing certain applications on the handheld to operate slowly.

Details

The performance issue appears to be with the Axim X5 Firmware and not with the PocketPC 2003 operating system. Dell has determined the root cause of the issue and will begin proactively shipping the ROM update CDs to all affected Windows Mobile 2003 Axim customers.
