Rainbow VNext

Hi all,

Cory has been busy creating a site for the next version of rainbow. He will be heading up the next version while manu looks after v1 (With everyone working on vnext at some point in the future).

http://next.rainbowportal.net

From the site:

"This project targets both ASP.NET 1.1 and ASP.NET 2.0 Frameworks with a goal of being feature complete by June 2004.

v.Next is the current codename for the next version of the Rainbow Portal.  In early 2003 Manu launched his vision of a single ASP.NET portal project and it has been very successful.  With the announcement of ASP.NET 2.0 (Whidbey) the excitement around new features has been revived.  This site is the official home of a project to create the next best portal software on top of ASP.NET 2.0.  At the same time we target ASP.NET 2.0 we will also make a version of the product that runs on ASP.NET 1.1 and upgrades the current Rainbow Portal to include all the new features.

The vision has grown to encompass CMS (Content Management Systems), Portals (Personalized windows into content), XML Web Services, and complete web site administration.

Rainbow has always been an open project that welcomes new ideas and contributions from everyone.  Everyone who wants to participate is encouraged to review the requirements and project areas of the site and contribute where interested."

For now I will continue working on V1 with the aim of moving onto vnext in the next 2-3 months.

If you are interested in rainbow or are simply curious about potential portal features for your own solutions then pay us a visit.
