INETA Presentations in the Netherlands

Two weeks ago I had the privilege of being sponsored by INETA to speak at a VB User Group meeting in the Netherlands.  The meeting was for VBcentral, which has monthly meetings for VB developers in a city called Doorn, which is about a 45 drive (without traffic) from Amsterdam.

The meeting was very successful by all accounts.  They normally get about 35 attendees per meeting, but were able to draw closer to 70 for this meeting.  The attendees not only were very engaging, including laughing at my jokes :-), but also asked good questions and expressed sincere appreciate to me for making the effort to come over to speak to them.

The sessions they asked me to deliver were on SQL Server Compact Edition and VB Worst Practices.  Both sessions went well, despite my poor attempt at doing a demo on a laptop with Dutch Windows (don't ask...)

All is all, I had a great time, enjoyed the crowd at the sessions, and felt that they enjoyed and appreciated the presentations as well.  Thanks to vbCentral for inviting me and to INETA for sponsoring the trip.

Particular thanks to André Obelink and Willem van den Broek for handling all of the logistics and to Maurice de Beijer for the 45 minute drive to the meeting, which turned out to be a very enjoyable 2 hour trip.
