My blog is moving
I’ve been blogger here years for now and it’s time to move to more advanced blogging environment where I have more control over what is going on. My new blog with current content is ready on address http://gunnarpeipman.com/ and all current/new readers are welcome there. Main RSS-feed is already displaying posts from new blog. While migration is in work I will post some posts here too with reference to new blog. Yes, you can go with my new blog as it is ready to serve you.
Why this move?
I have many reasons to go with more advanced platform:
- I need better control over technical side of blog (design, modules, optimizing).
- Spam volumes here are so massive that I have no time to fight against it. Spam filters let a lot of messages through so they are published.
- Spam kills communication and as volumes grow I have noticed more and more how communication is dying here. I must change it.
- Also I want this new blog to be effective support channel for my upcoming sessions.
- New blog will be optimized also for touch and mobile devices. As it uses less JavaScript (here it is the only option) it loads faster.
My new blog runs on WordPress.
What will change?
I have some new and unimplemented old ideas that now are easy to push to reality. Most important one: I start also blogging about customer solutions and experiences on working with mere mortal people in different technology projecs.
New sections:
- Developer bookshelf – section where I will publish on one page all books I have read and can recommend others to read. Of course, references to my own reviews will also be there.
- Session materials – section where I will publish my session materials like slides, code examples, reference links.
On all other aspects this blog will remain deeply technical place. I have some plans to start also blogging about technical devices I use but this is just plan. The final decisions about all new stuff will be done for the end of July.
You’re all welcome!
Although migration is going on the new platform is ready for you and I would like to welcome you all there. So, let’s meet @ gunnarpeipman.com!
