SOAP 1.1 Binding for MTOM 1.0 and WSDL 1.1 Binding Extension for SOAP 1.2

Two new expected specifications came out last week.

SOAP 1.1 Binding for MTOM 1.0

The SOAP 1.1 Binding for MTOM 1.0 specification details the necessary modifications to the W3C SOAP Message Transmission Optimization Mechanism (MTOM) and XML-binary Optimized Packaging (XOP) specifications necessary to successfully use these technologies with SOAP 1.1. The MTOM and XOP specifications were originally specified by the W3C with normative bindings for SOAP 1.2. However, they were intended to be capable of being used in a SOAP 1.1 context, but no formal binding was ever defined.

WSDL 1.1 Binding Extension for SOAP 1.2

The WSDL 1.1 Binding Extension for SOAP 1.2 specification defines WSDL 1.1 binding extensions to indicate that Web service messages are bound to the SOAP 1.2 protocol. The binding extension is very similar to the WSDL 1.1 binding extension for SOAP 1.1, but contains the necessary changes that allow it to be used for SOAP 1.2. This specification defines the semantics for the "SOAP builders" schema for the SOAP 1.2 WSDL binding extension that had never been formally specified.
