VB.NET Application Developer position
APPLICATION DEVELOPER Custom Data Systems, Inc., an industry leader in Association Management software, seeks a Senior Level .NET Application Developer to assist with a FoxPro to VB.NET migration project in Glen Allen, VA. The ideal candidate must be adept in design, creativity and forward thinking. 5+ yrs. object oriented programming experience, 3+ yrs. VB.NET experience preferably w/ Windows Forms, strong conceptual database design skills using SQL Server, debugging & analytical skills required. Experience w/ the following is a plus: Nant, Draco, Nunit, VSS, FoxPro, Extreme Programming. Experience in software & systems engineering required. Must possess the ability & desire to work within a small team, have a high level of motivation & be persistent & work independently. Strong communication, time management & organization skills required. A degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is preferred but not required. Databinding Comboboxes is slow
We have noticed that our UI's with lots of comboboxes take longer than those without to draw and display data. We ran ANTs to confirm yes, ComboBoxes are slower than other controls.

I mucked around with this the better half of a day. I wanted to know if sql server was recompiling our sprocs.

SelectionChangeCommitted event does not always fire
In development, using V 1,1 of the framework, we have seen cases where Combobox.SelectionChangedCommitted does not fire. Ever trying numerous work arounds, I finally asked MS. Here is their reply:

WSUS on web server breaks No Touch Deployment application
After installing WSUS on a web server, our No Touch Deployment application quit working. We started getting a System.IO.FileNotFoundException exception when trying to retrieve an exe file from the web server.
