Old School Metal
Being a fan of the old school NYC metal scene, getting 2 new CDs from bands of the era is like having Christmas in April. If you are into that stuff, I’d highly recommend going out and picking the following up:
Overkill – KillBox 13 – Going back to their roots, and dishing out some riffs reminiscent of the NWOBHM sound. Not as heavy or thrash as their last 2 releases, but rocks still the same. First new material since 9/11. The troops in the Gulf should be playing this CD. Struck Down is my favorite track.
Anthrax – We’ve Come For You All – Currently only available as an import (but will be released in the States in May). If you get one new CD this month, this has to be it. A lot more straight ahead hard rock, and bit less thrash, but an excellent CD. The import only bonus songs are worth the extra couple bucks (plus you don’t have to wait until May). The title of my blog comes from the song Cadillac Rock Box. It also has a bunch of songs relating to 9/11, and Refuse To Be Denied says just about all that needs to be said.
