Speculating On Indigo, again

Time for me to start my next round of Indigo speculations.

Microsoft-watch.com had some articles speculation about a server OS release:

and another one that rumors that the Longhorn shipdate already slipped to 2007.

Releasing Indigo not until 2007 would hardly help Microsoft keeping their leadership position in the Web services arena. It would also give us 3 years to write web services apps using WSE ... 3 years worth of software that would need to be migrated, or at least as told at PDC, run out of support within a few years.

If you remember Don Box's words on a Indigo release date: “No earlier than Whidbey, no later than Longhorn“, you may come to the speculation (or hope) that the initial Indigo relase date might really not be coupled to Longhorn after all ... heck, with the latest statements that Whidbey won't make it 'til 2005, then even the first part of Don's statement may be right.

One can hope, right?
